I am Zekoua Bi Seraphin, born in Ivory Coast, I am a dancer - choreographer and percussionist.
I got my education as a dance-teacher in Abidjan, Ivory-Coast, from 1990 to 1996, with Mrs.
Viviane Kadidia Thiam (who got her training in Albany, N.Y., U.S.A. and in Paris, France). I got my
degree as a dance-teacher in African Dance, Modern-Jazz and Afro-Jazz.
From 1991 untill 1998 I worked in Ivory-Coast with different groups.
From 1998 untill 2003 I worked and lived in Burkina Faso, I worked with several groups, for example
“La Troupe Saaba”, from Koudougou, with this group I went on tour for Mundial, Holland, in 2000
and 2001. I participated in many festivals in Burkina Faso, Ivory-Coast, Holland and France.
Since 2005 I work in Athens, Greece. I give dance- and percussion- lessons in Athens and
participated in many festivals in Greece.
I give my lessons both in French and English. With my background of profound knowledge of the
traditional music and dances of West- Africa and the combination of my experience in Jazz and
Afro-Jazz, with a broad experience of teaching in Europe, I think I can offer a positive contribution to
your school / group.
There is a promotion- DVD of 10 minutes available with a short example of a workshop dance and
a workshop percussion I gave in Holland in January 2008, also a list of references of the persons
who participated in this programm.
